How to prepare my luggage for the plane?

At the airport, the guidelines are strict about luggage: weight and limited size, allowed items or not ... Here's what you need to know to prepare your suitcase and move controls without trouble.

That's it, it's D-Day: you fly to wherever you dreamed ... Do not ruin that pleasure because of your luggage! This year, thanks to our advice, nobody can deny you suitcase and hand luggage. It'll just be guided and of course ... enjoy.

1 How much weight for my luggage?

Although the authorized cargo hold and cabin weight varies by airline (please consult), here are the rules generally applied: Each passenger is allowed 20 kg of checked baggage in economy class and 30 kg in the first class. Cabin baggage (yes, only one bag is permitted, however, handbag and laptop bag may apply.) Must not exceed 5 kg and exceed the following dimensions: 55 x 40 x 20 cm.
Our little tricks to avoid paying the extra pounds (about 10 euros per kilo): Buyer of luggage, do not neglect its weight. The heavier it is, the more you'll be forced to cut what you can put there. Why not opt for a flexible and lighter suitcase? Also, if you do not recognize the type to travel light, crazy this year on a suitcase into small size. You'll be forced to make a real choice and not take everything!

2 What should be banished from our luggage?

Do we still remember the explosives, ammunition, toxic chemicals, gas, radioactive materials, corrosives but also flammable (addicted paint leave it out) are strictly prohibited on board an aircraft.
In addition to these hazardous materials, it will be impossible to get on a plane if you keep on your person or in your carry-on the following products: knives, scissors, or imitation weapons, blunt objects (hammer, golf club. ..).
It is also recommended to avoid any liquid, aerosol cosmetics and in your hand luggage. However, this is not prohibited provided that the following guidelines: each must keep in containers of less than 100 ml, you will need to present them in a unique closed plastic bag that will make up to 20 x 20 cm.

3 Some exceptions to spice things up (it would not be fun otherwise)

You can take with you on the plane, in an amount appropriate to the length of trip: baby food or infant, liquid purchases made after security controls, liquid medications and insulin necessary for passengers diabetics (do not forget the orders in the latter two cases).
Depending on your airline, specific conditions may be granted for certain materials: surfboard, golf club, diving equipment ...
In all cases, avoid unnecessary stress before departure: See your company for not having a bad surprise!
Bon voyage and do not forget to label your luggage ...
